Angelfish care guide
Domestic freshwater angelfish are fairly hardy and simple to care for. They do well in temperatures of 78 to 86 degrees. our hatchery is run completely on texas well water with PH of 7.8 and TDS of 140. They generally will adapt to most water parameters given slow enough acclimation and constant tank conditions. If you are from an area with extremely hard water you may find it necessary to mix your tap water with RO water to reduce the TDS.
In regards to diet they do well on varied types of prepared foods as well as frozen varieties. We feed a blend of flake food, granules, frozen brine shrimp, frozen daphnia, frozen mysis shrimp, frozen tubifex worms, and frozen reef plankton. we would recommend avoiding blood worms as they dont have much nutritional value and can cause gastrointestinal distress. We feed twice daily but most fish will do fine on once daily, particularly when they reach adulthood and are not growing anymore.
We do recommend fairly frequent water changes, the percentage and frequency depends on your stocking density. Generally one 50% water change per week is adequate unless density is abnormally high, provided there are no live plants present.
